8-day bike-sailing holiday through France's most famous wine region

Castets-en-Dorthe's classic Bordeaux wine route to Libourne

Castets-en-Dorthe's classic Bordeaux wine route to Libourne: cycling and sailing through France's most famous wine region.

I add some text here.

World-famous Bordeaux wine region

The best way to discover the world famous wine region of Bordeaux is by bike using a 'sailing hotel'.

self-guided or with a guide on the road in a group (rent bike or bring your own bike)

During this 8-day fully catered holiday you will stay on a luxury ship and sail over no less than three rivers (the Garonne, the Dordogne and the Gironde). You stay in a different place every day without having to pack and unpack your suitcase every time. The ship visits the six famous wine regions during this trip and you can choose from two different cycle routes every day. Or you can choose not to cycle and laze on the ship or explore the area on foot.

You have the freedom to go out self-guided with a GPS device provided by the organization. Would you rather cycle under the guidance of a guide? Then, of course, you can.

You can choose a rental bike, but you can also bring your own bike on board the ship free of charge.

UNESCO World Heritage List

Visit the castles, sample the wide variety of wines at the many wine tastings and admire the historic monuments, many of which are placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The ship is docked daily from 09:00 to about 17:00. So you have all the time to enjoy the area and see the sights. As a result, there is also plenty of time to enjoy coffee breaks in typical French villages during the daily cycle routes.

Good care on board

At the end of the day, the ship's crew welcomes you back on board and you can enjoy a drink on the upper deck. The culinary aspect of this special bike vacation is certainly not forgotten. In the evening, enjoy a delicious 3-course menu with matching wine from the region where you cycled that day. While enjoying all the goodies the region has to offer, the ship sets course for the next region that you can explore by bike again the next day.
