8-day bicycle tour Turkey Trans Lycia (group tour)

Cycling trip in a group in Turkey, hotel trekking. On request from 4 persons.

Discover the Southwest coast of Turkey during this group cycling trip. The beautiful surroundings, alternating landscapes and archaeological remains make for a special cycling trip full of history and culture.

From the Netherlands you fly to the town of Dalaman, after which you will travel to the starting point in Fethiye. At this hotel trekking you can stay at the nicest and quaintest locations. Some hotels are "garden hotels" where you sleep in a garden with small cottages/bungalows. All rooms/cottages are equipped with a private bathroom with shower and toilet.

During this cycling trip you can enjoy the beautiful Lycian coastline. All roads in this trip are easily passable and have asphalted inroads (bar for a small adventurous part).

The varied nature, picturesque villages and special sights make this holiday in Turkey a bike trip to never forget!

Cycling in Turkey/Trans Lycia

The habitat of the Lycians was found between the bays of Fethiye and Antalya, enclosed by a mountainous area. The bike tour starts in the most southwestern part of the old Lycia: the port city of Fethiye. After Fethiye we cycle further north towards the town of Patara.

You will take a look at the archaeological remains of the capital of ancient Lycia, Patara, located directly on the very long sandy beach.

Then you will cycle to the authentic town of Kaş. This fishing village is an authentic harbour town with many cosy small shops, restaurants, bars and terraces. Kaş is situated on a hillside. The narrow, winding streets with old houses and stylish wooden balconies give it a special atmosphere. Kaş is also a true paradise for divers. In addition, Kaş offers archaeological sites such as a theatre from the Hellenistic era and Lycian tombs from the 4Th century BC. From the cosy Kaş we go to Finike, known for the many fruit trees and through the enchanting Bay of Adrasan we reach the impressive old Olympos.

Herman and Anneke (68/65 Jr.) End of April – mid May: 17 day bike ride from Dalyan to Adrasan. Cycled In 6 stages along the western South coast of Turkey, 7 hotels, about 3 nights per hotel; On "rest days" we cycled through the hinterland or the peninsula. As experienced cyclists we came to Turkey. Exercise was required: lots of snappy climbs; but we always reached the top cycling. Good bikes, fine hotels with very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the nature, the views of the sea, the silence, the friendly people, the good weather, the tasty food. The whole trip was perfectly organized; an excellent holiday. Thanks!

Once again enjoyed a wonderful trip with Eye4Cycling. Nice temperature during the day in December, in the evening everyone around the heater. Nice bike rides with snappy climbs, but no long day trips so easy to do with an average condition. The Turkish food is always a joy!
